July 2019 Update
After recovering from the open weekend, volunteers met at the end of July to continue with maintenance. Track work involved removing some twist from the track at Wesleys’ Halt and fixing the track movement problem over the manhole cover. Trials also began on a new style of insulated joint to replace the less supportive and unreliable tufnol ones.
Investigations began on Sarah Siddons after the open weekend troubles. The controller has been checked and is thankfully working ok. The motors were checked and one of the four has failed, we’ll look into a replacement and hope to fit it before September.
Also during the day, the Depot Approach benches received the first stages of rust treatment.
