December 2020
With Lockdown 2 in force, no work took place on the railway in November. There were, however, a couple of weeks between lockdown 2 and the introduction of tier 4 during which a limited number of the team got to work making every minute count.
The sole focus was breaking the ground for foundations of a new workshop shed. Lots of earth was removed, bricks were crushed to fill the new void and a layer of pea-shingle spread over the top. This will provide a firm foundation for the new shed which will give us a lot more working space and make maintenance much easier with a raised track.
Tier 4 is still in force and so we can’t put a date on the next maintenance day, hopefully it won’t be too far away.
For now, we wish you all a happy new year and look forward to seeing you sometime in 2021!
